The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most advanced robot to date is the Roomba J7+. Its biggest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often plough right through). It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, so that you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we've ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills effortlessly leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep areas you do not want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop by speaking to it.

The design is also better than the other models. It features a sleek, high-end piece that resembles a toy rather than the loud and annoying robot. The clean smart robot Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties which is great to speed up cleaning.

In our tests, we observed that the j7+ quickly took away dirt, dust, and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able to collect sand, small gravel and even a bit of grit. Most robots could not do this. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair.

The j7+, while not as smart as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot, and it cannot clean the stairs, is still a good option for those who want both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take some time to download updates, and often it's difficult to tell if the update is actually functioning until you've seen it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the best budget robot vacuum choice is probably hybrid. This type of robot typically comes with a built-in tank for water, meaning they can both vacuum and mop your home at the same time. These bots also come with a variety of extra features such as smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. The downside is that they tend to be pricey at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.

Roborock is one of our favorite robot best vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it's not equipped with some of the features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save hundreds of dollars.

The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it an ideal choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is a problem where cheaper robot vacuums often fail. The Q5+'s navigation system is excellent, with few misses along walls or in corners.

The Q5+, just like other Roborock products, can be controlled by only a few buttons on your device or through the Roborock App. Through the app, you can start and stop cleanings or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones, and adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the machine easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's in place, emptying the bin is relatively simple. It also has a large LCD display, which is nice to have when you're setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't essential for everyone, but it can help you effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design and function are among the best cheap robot vacuum on the market - but it's also pricey.

Its base station looks good and hides it when not in use, and its size is quite compact. The station's most appealing factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robovac I've tried that does a good job picking up dirt from floors that aren't. And it's not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs, which means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It's not able navigate stairs as well as some competitors, and it doesn't have a dock that lets you to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.

While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for an all-around great mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the premium price cost.

The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers a similar in-app experience with more features like stair climbing, a full-function dock, and a better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing robot vacuums with the right combination of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning on hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at an affordable price point. Its design is a little more modest than other models, with a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.
