World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

upgrade item components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or impact while they're being used. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. In contrast to other mods components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it will be improved following a reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a high chance that the item could be obsolete or even break when it fails; a failure to upgrade can ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as you can to level 15.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs, and there are some rare glyphs to be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for example should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item upgrade.

When the player improves a piece of equipment it is replaced by a new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a problem in that it could cause the item to become more expensive if you do not need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be useful, but should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is very valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of its unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item upgrader mod, it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to go to its original state, requiring the player to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost it will be applied before any attack damage increases. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade item an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item upgrade may have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For instance they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will still need to take each piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade will require an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
