3. iRobot Roomba X40

The robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the bulky units of the competitors. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house depending on how dirty the areas are.

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose one with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot cleaner with mop to clean a particular area of your home by using the app or voice commands.
