Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can be a good source of additional damage and more AD or even more attachments.

Armor

Unlike other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped with another jewel of the same kind without destroying the original one. However, you can only replace a jewel in a piece of equipment only once.

The use of more jewels in the movement will make it more smooth and is typically performed for aesthetic reasons. The jewels also improve performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than metal so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to the movement.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the look of your shields and weapons. These provide a small bonus and are able to be swapped easily but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Every piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any equipment.
