The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an ideal option for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is an area that many robot vacuums that are less expensive aren't able to meet. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is excellent and has very few missing in corners and along walls.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled with only a few buttons on your device, or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas, adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it ships with a new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once in place the process of emptying the bin is easy. It also features an impressive LCD display which is great to have when creating schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't required for most people but it can help you effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively intelligent in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and functionality are among the top available however, it's also expensive.

The base station looks nice and is easily hidden when not in use, and the dimensions are quite small. The main reason to buy the station is that it can automate many tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. The majority of other robots require you to do this.

And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's the few robovacs I've tested that does an excellent job of picking up debris on bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means that it could get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the home. It can't navigate stairs as well as competitors, either and it doesn't have a dock that lets the user to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for plush carpets.

Although it doesn't have the same amount of cleaning-related options in its app or as many in-app shortcuts as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comprehensive robot vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price tag.

If you're looking for a way to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are other options available. A lot of eufy models are substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance, is cheaper and offers the same experience in the app, but with more features, including stair climbing, a full-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

Eufy, a Anker company, has a track record of creating robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning on hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a reasonable price. Its design is a little less ostentatious than some rival models, sporting sleek black finishes and three physical buttons such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which cleans the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The main feature that makes the G30 above the rest is the method it cleans. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects it encounters, remembering what it's already cleaned and where it can't access. When it needs to recharge, it will automatically return to its base and resumes cleaning from where it started.

The elegant G30 has some flaws. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better built, incurs lower recurring costs, is charged faster and offers similar battery life while offering superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It also comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as often and comes with the boundaries to restrict it from certain areas. The G30, however, is more affordable and is much simpler to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't have to be emptied as frequently and has less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
