However, unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we test the i3+ does not have any obstacle-avoidance features and therefore it could be stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they aren't clogged by dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low, it returns to its docking station, automatically empties its debris into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning where it left off. The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin which eliminates a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the cost of maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session and to move around the room and sweep a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected, we were able to give the i7+ voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a world of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households, but it also fits nicely on the coffee table or the bookshelf, that you can spin around like the magic tool.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that can provide power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system captures allergens, and then releases cleaner air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpets to trap large crumbs and fine dust. Its flat front design allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top picks and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. Because of this, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't as sturdy, and often is power-depleted before returning to its base.

It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and can perform better on floors with low pile and bare.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not a surprise, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard tech for navigation and obstacles avoidance.

The app provides a range of options to customize your robotic automatic floor cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments, docking frequency settings and much more. The app is easy to use and understand similar to other Samsung devices.

In our testing our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller items such as socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than the other models we tried, which might be a deal-breaker for certain shoppers.

The app allows you to access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's area of cleaning. This feature lets you monitor your pets or the kids if you're away from home. The dustbin and filter can be cleaned for quick, painless cleanup.
