Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum will keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency at which you'll need to manually vacuum. Choose a robot vacuum bot with good navigation, is able to clean corners and stairs and has large bins that only needs to be emptying every so often.

There are models that can mop and charge themselves, which is a feature that is essential for families with pets or children. Many of the top performers in our tests have decent obstacle avoidance.

1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a good choice for people who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience but don't mind taking the time to empty their robot's trash bin as it gets full.

Both robots excel at picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors and they're excellent at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home that assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we test the i3+ does not have any obstacle-avoidance features and therefore it could be stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they aren't clogged by dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low, it returns to its docking station, automatically empties its debris into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning where it left off. The battery's lifespan is around an hour-and-a-half of continuous usage. It takes 3 hours to fully charge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with the latest technology. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or via the app.

The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin which eliminates a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the cost of maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session and to move around the room and sweep a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected, we were able to give the i7+ voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a world of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households, but it also fits nicely on the coffee table or the bookshelf, that you can spin around like the magic tool.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that can provide power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system captures allergens, and then releases cleaner air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpets to trap large crumbs and fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to match the task that is being completed. It is able to quickly change from best automatic vacuum automatic floor cleaning machine cleaning machine (yogicentral.science) vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

This model also has a dock that charges to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments as well as the wand clip. This is a huge improvement over older Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The biggest issue with the V10 is its short run time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is an average, not an exceptional, time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. It's enough time to vacuum the average-sized home however, it's not enough time to reach every spot. (A second pass generally works). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums the 694 is an entry-level model that's an excellent choice for people who don't wish to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of types of debris and sizes during our testing, and it frequently goes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top picks and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. Because of this, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't as sturdy, and often is power-depleted before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and can better navigate itself. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.

The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most purposes, as it has a longer battery life, can change its suction power mode manually and has physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and can perform better on floors with low pile and bare.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not a surprise, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard tech for navigation and obstacles avoidance.

These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments, docking frequency settings and much more. The app is easy to use and understand similar to other Samsung devices.

In our testing our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller items such as socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than the other models we tried, which might be a deal-breaker for certain shoppers.

The dustbin and filter can be cleaned for quick, painless cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with self-emptying clean stations, which helps keep the bin clean and maximizes suction power.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

Contrary to other robotic vacuums that are specifically designed for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They have a wider cleaning path as well as a large dustbin that holds 2X more debris than the competition to keep the cleaning area free of debris for the longest period of time. Plus, they include two side sweepers to clean along edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also comes with AutoSense technology, which detects the presence of dirt on surfaces or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts its power level. The vacuum also comes with an app that allows you to view the virtual map, manage functions, and schedules. You can also monitor the status of the vacuum's battery and send it back to its dock for charging at the touch of a button. The app allows you to personalize the lights on top of the vacuum with different colors, so you can clearly see what areas it's focusing on or where it's stuck.

The application also allows you to steer the robot manually should you need to. My living room rug for instance is darkly colored that can trip up some other robots. The HRV 425BL, however, continued to move across the border without ever registering the edge. Also, the ability to create the weekly cleaning schedule is a wonderful time-saving benefit.
