Robot vacuums and mops are getting more efficient. They have passed our tests for cleaning, and can handle different floors. Look for models that let you choose from a variety of modes, and use their charging docks to automatically empty and clean stairs.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

Eufy's gunmetal-and-gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot hoover and mop vacuums and mop combos available on the market. It makes use of lidar to navigate, create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels) and is compatible with the free Eufy Clean app that lets you set schedules and customize the S1's behavior.

When I tried the S1, it was quick to identify our downstairs, which has laminate flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, as well as medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It easily drove close to walls without crashing into them and even managed to drive across thresholds that were raised in the room without issue, though it occasionally struggled to get down stairs in a single pass. The S1 also did a great job cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved smoothly on the flat side against the floor and then lifting itself when it reached carpet or rug.

The docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and refills its water tank onboard with clean, ozonated water prior to every mopping session. The dock also adds a cleaning solution to the water for deep cleaning. The S1's water tank holds enough water for about twelve cleaning sessions before it has to be emptied, though this will vary depending the amount you use the mop.

The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. In order to do this, you'll have to rinse out the dirty water tank regularly to avoid it from clogging. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors frequently to avoid them from becoming clogged with dirt or dust. But, overall, the S1 is simple to maintain, particularly compared to other combos which require more effort to maintain.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

This all-in-1 robot vacuum and mop combo from Ecovacs is a reliable option to meet your cleaning needs. The robot vacuum has 8,700Pa suction power and comes with a variety of unique features, including voice control and smart path scheduling that cleans furniture and eliminates obstacles. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive. Rotating mop pads actually lift floors and scrub it, rather than simply moving a pad across the surface. The mops can also be dried and cleaned at the base station if required.

This robot vacuum best combo has an easy interface that guides you throughout the process. Its navigation capabilities are quite good, though it can be stuck on small mats and rugs around my home (which you can mitigate by defining virtual boundaries in the app). The mopping feature is pretty excellent, too, with a pair of spin mop heads that actually lift and scrub floors, as opposed to simply dragging the pad across it. The mops can be cleaned with hot water and dried in the basestation whenever needed. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when needed.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was released earlier this year. But their latest flagship model has even more impressive features. It offers outstanding cleaning results and hands-off maintenance making it a top contender for our best robotic mop and vacuum mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection, and an expanded side brush ensure a thorough, customized clean is completed.

The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests well while avoiding pet hairs and other messes. The sweeping capability of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush that automatically swings out in order to reach areas that are difficult to reach, and mop pads that extend across baseboards.

Its navigation is smart it can navigate narrow spaces and climbing the stairs without a hitch. It can move from one room to another without needing to reverse the direction. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop designed specifically for this purpose. It's easy to connect it to your WiFI network at home and it works with Alexa or Apple Siri.

The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the more expensive S-series models from the company, including the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It uses the same LIDAR mapping sensor, but it saves cost by eliminating mopping and using a cheaper plastic body.

Even though it's not able to mop floors, the Q5 still has the best rated robot vacuum mopping and vacuum performance we've seen on a robot in this price range. It has powerful 5500Pa suction and an auto-empty system which means you don't need to manually empty the bin every time. It also comes with a smart app that lets you set your floor's type and schedule cleanings, and an automatic refill of the water tank and wash system to allow hands-free operation.

Its mops are also awe-inspiring, with 2700Pa of power that can tackle dirt, dust, and pet hair on both carpets and hard floors. The Q5 is among the few robots we tested that didn't show any problems with carpets with high piles or area rugs, but it couldn't clean up cables or kitty litter and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise considering it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

5. K10 Plus

K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also features an innovative mapping system that helps it reach tight spaces and corners that other vacuums are unable to. The device also stores dust in a larger dustbin which means you need empty it less frequently. It also has washable filters, which can further cut costs. The robot is able to detect carpets, and boost suction if necessary. The app also lets you to mark off areas you want to stay clear of and is a great feature.
