What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

Certain upgrades also give additional random boosts in addition to stat boosts. These secondary boosts are extremely beneficial and should be taken into consideration when choosing which items to upgrade. Certain boosts can only be used in certain builds (such the Whistan's Shield in FB Sorcs) While others are useful to collectors.

Certain items come with a built-in boos that is not useful when upgraded. For instance, the Goldwrap provides extra slots for potion. They are usually upgraded to inject more value into an item that is perfect or close to being perfect.

Costs

There are some costs associated with item upgrades. The first cost is the upgrade itself. This cost can be expensive and is dependent on the new ilvl of the item upgrade and the number of perks it receives. It can also be costly to upgrade an item to a higher tier (such as Explorer > Champion or Veteran > Heroic).

The second is the cost of materials required to upgrade. Success Rate

It is also possible to add a range of additional elements to the upgrade, which increases its chance of success. These are displayed in a window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is shown directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version thereof can be used to increase the chances of an upgrade items being successful. This item is useful when your piece of equipment or weapon is nearing or has reached the top level of its tier.
