The best robot vacuum cleaner hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and will leave your floors clean. Its low cost and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Examine your robot's brush frequently for tangled debris and hair. Clean them as needed. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dustbin into a larger one at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model) they utilize smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it detects the presence of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned up quickly.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to get stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good value for those whose home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used when you're at work or in school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensor technology that can keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to offer more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average when compared to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to remove and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuums that mop vacuum/mop that could complete an entire house, finishing with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms that had mixed flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was superb and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming this feature, which we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored 100% in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and some additional cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, and cleans and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the house depending on how dirty those areas tend to be.

For bigger homes, it's worth opting for a model with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your house via the app or via voice commands. A stairway mode is useful if you own a number of furniture. Additionally a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would imagine from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad that has an oscillating motion that is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or set up the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app also gives access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgIts shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and underneath furniture better. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like adorable eyes. It does a good job vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpg
