Armour

Armour is one of the main factors that keep Link protected from damage in the majority of situations. While it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it is possible to enhance its defense capabilities in a variety of ways.

The principle of armour is to protect animals or people from physical injury or harm, either from direct physical attack or from a range of dangers to the environment or activity. Historically, most armour was made from leather or fabric, but metal protections were also employed, especially for military applications such as heavy cavalry and combat drones.

There are many ways to upgrade your armour, however, the majority require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a unique degree of upgrades available, with more granting greater levels of protection, and needing a higher amount of rupees and materials to unlock.

First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been installed and removed, they cannot be reverted until you own a different piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is crucial to only apply the highest level of upgrades to your equipment and that you have the required materials to complete them.

They are typically marked with an orange triangle or a gold circle symbol and are available in large quantities as you progress. While they may appear randomly, there is an opportunity that obtaining certain upgrade components will trigger quests that reward you with more.

It's important to keep in mind that, even though the level offered by each upgrade could vary however, it will always be greater than nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armor will give you a significant defense boost, which will shield you from all forms of attacks, except magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.

You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades that make them unique. They can boost damage, alter the weapon's stats so that they are suited to your specific build, and even unlock new attachments, such as unique enchantments, ammo types, and aesthetic options.

To upgrade a weapon you'll require an upgrade component ready and the item. The weapon must also be at or above a certain point for the upgrade to be effective and most weapons can only accept one upgrade at one time.

There are weapons upgrade components scattered across the globe and from enemies and can be bought from a merchant. The upgrade components themselves are a combination of components that can be slotted into armor, weapons trinkets and gathering tools to give an attribute bonus or extra effect while they're in use. They require the equipment to be of a certain degree to accept the upgrade and can be upgraded in the same way as other items.

Upgrades are a mixture of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to enhance the stats of weapons and improve their scaling with other stats. They can be found from enemies that are dropped into the open world, bought from a few merchants, or obtained through drops during combat.

Two NPCs can enhance your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, located in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji, in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.

It's important to prioritize upgrading your most-used items first, followed by items that you won't need to replace in the near future. If you're planning on playing a melee build, for example upgrade your weapon, then your shoulders and chest followed by your feet and hands. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, based on your playstyle, some procs will be more useful than others. Armour is not any different, with some reforges better than others.

Magic Items

A character can upgrade only one magic item at a time. If an upgrade project has been canceled, no further upgrades will be made for that Best item upgrader. Magic items that are upgraded cost twice the gold they would normally cost to create or buy however they may provide additional advantages.

A magical item is any item that has some special properties or effects. The majority of these items are weapons, however some are also shields, armor, cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings and other items. Some of these items are telepathic.

Most magic items can be enhanced in their abilities. This makes them more useful to players or aid them to overcome a difficult situation. An infused weapon might provide an additional amount of damage to a specific enemy type, for example. This is especially useful for characters who have reached a level where they are likely to face a single kind of monster over and over again in the dungeons.

A ring that is infused can grant immunity to bludgeoning, piercing or slashing injuries from nonmagical attacks (not including silvered ones) until the next time the character takes a long rest. This is especially useful for melee fighters or anyone who wants to avoid buying an armor.

Certain enchanted objects possess special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that are not in their class list. This is beneficial for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These items with enchanted abilities typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check prior to use them, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling on an index based on the number of Intelligence points used.

Other enchanted objects might allow the character's appearance be altered, or they could even create a brand new one. These items are particularly useful for characters that have been forced to leave their home, or are located in an area where they may not be welcomed. A magical item could give them the ability to disappear or make them invisible for everyone except the chosen person.

Utility Items

Utility items are products that do not fall under the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons, and provide a range of different capabilities. Utility items aren't compatible with each other, as opposed to Armor or Weapons. The majority of utility items have an effect that a player can activate by using them, but some have additional abilities that are activated when the user presses the button or activates the ability.

Generally speaking, the most popular type of utility item is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other utilities include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to float in the air while they move, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section you can quickly create a variety of utilitarian items, whereas others are available only through Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.

In addition to the items available in the standard inventory, players can also obtain the most useful items of utility by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Some of these items are upgradeable for more effective use.

The majority of utility items boost an individual combat ability or provide the player with some kind of navigation advantage. Sharpening stones, made by a Weaponsmith, increase Power and Ferocity, while Maintenance Oils, made by a Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other items of utility like Writs and Theses created by the Scribe, can be used to give players an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
