The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also self-empties and refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum cleaner cheap vacuum to date. The most significant innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. This uses AI to identify objects such as charging cords and shoes. It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, meaning you can instruct the robot to stay clear of it.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we've ever tested. It removes dirt and spills effortlessly, leaving no trace that it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it with a voice.

Its design is an improvement over the rest and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying and is ideal for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering around the floor. It even was able to capture sand and small gravel that other robots aren't able to do. And all this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shedding.

The j7+, although not as smart as the best robot vacuum cleaner Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot, and it cannot clean the stairs, it's an option for those who require both a vacuum and a mop. It's not expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a long time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update is working until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean your floors A hybrid is the ideal choice. This type of robot typically has a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your home simultaneously. They also come with various additional features such as smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The downside is that they can be expensive at retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.

Roborock produces several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. fail to impress. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and while it lacks certain features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles like table legs and walls which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning dust bunnies, which is an area where cheaper robot vacuums often be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation system is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.

Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled with a few buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, modify your home map or change the room's label.

If you opt for the Q5+ it includes a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed emptying the bin is done without difficulty. It features a large LCD screen which is helpful when setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This isn't a necessity for most people however it will aid in keeping track of the maintenance intervals for your robot easily.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design and features are some of the best on the market - but it's also pricey.

The base station is attractive and hides it when not in use, and the size is relatively compact. The station's main selling point is that it automates many tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot fully charged and clean.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robovac I've tried that does an excellent job of removing debris from bare floors. It's also not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

But the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially in terms of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the house. It can't climb stairs as well as some competitors, and doesn't come with an dock that allows you to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets that are soft.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a robot vacuum that does everything.

If you're looking to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options available. Many of the eufy models cost significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for example is less expensive and has many more features, like stair climbing and a full-function Dock, with an improved overall experience when vacuuming on floors that are unfinished, low-pile carpets as well as high-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of producing robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at a reasonable price. It's easy to set up by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn on and plug in the charging dock. The app guides you through the steps needed to connect it to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to leave the dock near an outlet for power and ample space for it to move however.

The G30 is a small device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it can be placed under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is more subtle compared to some rival models. It has a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral fashion over two minutes) Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 to amazon robot vacuum Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.

The way the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from its rivals. It uses a built-in map to create an image of the non-movable objects that are in its path, remembering what it's already cleaned and where it can't access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning where it left off.

The sleek G30 isn't without faults, though. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, has the same battery life and performs better on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It has a bigger dust bin that does not require as much emptying. It also comes with border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 is, however, is more affordable and a lot easier to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be emptied as frequently and it's less difficulty with bulky items such as cereal.
