WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrade used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will display the item upgrading's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item level upgrade slot and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item upgrading level upgrade - go here, has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.

Upgraders for items are available in many places including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through a variety of means which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with several new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is even if the items come from another set of gear.

The discount is available to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrader equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
