Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes that boost its stats base or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies or as a reward from missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade stats will be as well as the necessary element or material required to make that happen.

There are three kinds that are universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of the names of items. For example adding the suffix Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool and replaces the glyphs with a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level however, the materials needed do not increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of important items to maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across several pieces.

This will allow the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it is able to receive affixes that will increase its features. The number of affixes available is determined by the item's kind. For example, a rare or unique weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes for it and legendary armors can have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade step requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item upgrade fails to reach its max level, the NPC will give the player the option of transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take between one and two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower chance of success.

To determine the height of a structure, engineers will use an instrument to compare the measurement with a known reference point like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to an extremely high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial part of the game that can boost the damage, strength or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item upgrader mod. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be done sparingly.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes which made them easier for players to roll. It meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than other items. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This could be good or bad, depending on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may also come with a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are offered into the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item upgrader kit, the higher chances of obtaining a unique bonus.

The game also comes with number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an unit. This is a great method to add lots of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment, especially in the early stages. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, allowing you to advance in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in various ways. They can have different dimensions, contain no elements at all, or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.

There are many set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not boost the quality of the item's stats when as compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade item if your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Certain set items are upgraded for their own special functions that can be beneficial in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items up to parity with the tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item as well as the required items to upgrade it. This will display the item's features, as well as the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, armor and weapons have higher value when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will bring about a significant improvement in their stats. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade as its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
