Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare, and they're particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.

It's still a great option for those who want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can work while you're at work, or school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to a dry one in just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into an elegant, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a self-emptying dustbin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination uses advanced sensor technology to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it will learn your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a carpeted room, which helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also perfect to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot automatic vacuum and mop/mop to clean an entire home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was superb and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models this mop and robot vacuum cleaners best vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot mop that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has a perfect 10 in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a problem in the mornings before work, or at night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. If you're willing to put up some more volume and some additional cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with the degree of dirt they tend to be.

If you have a larger home, it's worth selecting a robot that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to inform the robot vacuums uk of which area of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have lot furniture. For busy families recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very useful.

It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to set up a spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app also provides access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for hair of pets. You can also set up a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we've test. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
