The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are ideal for those looking to remove mopping from their list of things to do. Some models have superior navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models, making it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic cleaner and mop vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It is very efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to remove dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings easily. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help pull out debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as impressive. The rotating mop spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger objects like broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't make the same volume of sound while vacuuming or mopping and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to install and is effective, but this is something you'll have to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums best vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a range of features.

The device comes with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and effectively. This results in an efficient, consistent clean that is also quite fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to the walls or other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent build-up and reduce the odors.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the intensity of its suction and choose between a back-andforth, or a more random patterns. You can also select the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.

The device has a expensive price, but is packed with a wide array of innovative features. It is important to remember that the device will incur periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For instance, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every three to six months.

This robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and offers a wide variety of physical automation features. This includes an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean house with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. It has two modules: a dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the water tank.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its accurate floorplan, which it uses to determine a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair of pets. It was able capture many of the hair that our cats shed, and even got into some of the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots struggled. It was fairly quiet and had some lovely jingles to indicated when it was starting or completing its task.

The app was too basic and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't keep multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it comes with some distinctive features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its enormous dock that serves as an charging base for the robot hoover, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin and the 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning or recall the robot or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a great feature for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgSimilar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. While this was rare but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni does not come with a "stuck" status alert on its app.

Another potential downside is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the basic black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for a market dominated by clunky boxes.
