The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping and robot vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their list of tasks. They are equipped with impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best robotic mop and vacuum navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.

It's efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its 8,000pa suction motor makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it encounters rugs and the two side brushes help pull out dirt from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as good. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms extend out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, like broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to install and performs well however this is something you'll need to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase an efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home, identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and efficiently. This ensures a thorough and consistent clean, while also being relatively quick.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach an array of surfaces. This includes corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor near to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction, and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more randomized pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it must make, which will determine how quickly the device can move through your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

This device is expensive however it has many useful features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and mop pads should be changed every three month.

This robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and offers a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an power button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a 'Home button to send it back home after cleaning robot mop and vacuum. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home clean without spending too much time on chores. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that allows you to keep your home tidy with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, that is, it can do mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two components which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with an elastomer pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature was its precise floorplan map which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers that help to protect certain areas of your house from being swept with mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair from pets. It was able capture some of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some nice jingles to let you know that it was starting and getting its work done.

Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to switch out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app isn't able to hold multiple maps, which could be a hassle when you live in a house with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has some unique features which are worth a look. The X1 Omni is notable for its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin and the 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base also comes with a set of control buttons that allow you to start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on the child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic hoovers vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni does not come with a "stuck" status alert on its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad, except that the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between use. This can lead to mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for a market dominated by clunky boxy units.robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpg
