Upgrades to gear increase its base stats and sometimes enhances its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the amount of random enhancements used.

The most powerful racial Shield Razortail, for example, is often upgraded to increase its lightning absorption capability in PvP and/or add additional defenses to missile-based designs in the PvM. This makes it more tradable than the perfect non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens permit you to buy a new item, such as a weapon, armor or ring. This allows you to swap the item for another similar one and comes with an additional set of bonuses. Reroll tokens are an efficient method of upgrading equipment. However, they don't retain the same level as the original item and any resources that are wasted aren't refunded.

The survivors can acquire reroll tokens through several means, including from the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be located in crates and chests or purchased at the local store for 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to change the attribute of a piece equipment, for example increasing its damage.

Players can reroll their equipment using three attributes: physical power, magic power and health. Physical power upgrades increase the damage done by weapons and melee attacks and spell power boosts mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades give the player additional health.

Three types of rerolls tokens are available in three categories: upgrade rare, legendary and rare. Leveling

Upgrades can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity. In addition, some upgrade components come with additional modifiers that can improve the item's stats.

For instance, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" increases base defense and adds an extra 20% chance of blocking. The dps "Wildfire", on the other hand increases damage from weapons.

Certain items benefit from upgrading less because of their improved stats, but for the fact that it allows players to gain the maximum amount of value from a flawless roll on the item. For instance, a perfectly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly valued in the melee PvP community and could be worth 20-50x the non-upp'd version.
